BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- Harvard softball fell to N.C. Central, 6-4, and Gardner Webb, 4-2, on day two of play in North Carolina.

In the Crimson's first game against N.C. Central, the Eagles jumped out to an early 3-0 lead. Harvard quickly answered in the top of the second to tie up the game at 3-3. Isabelle Haugh, Trina Hoang and Allison Heffley each singled to drive in runs.

Trina Hoang doubled in the top of the sixth inning to drive in Lauren Bobowski. The late-inning run wasn't enough as the Crimson was clipped by the Eagles by a final of 6-4.

After a three- run first inning by Gardner Webb in game two, the Crimson rallied to cut the lead to 3-2. Teagan Shaw hit a single to lead off the third inning, before Isabell Haugh reached on a throwing error which brought Shaw around to score and make it 3-1.

In the top of the fifth inning, Lauren Bobowski hit an inside the park homerun to trim the lead to just one run at 3-2.

Gardner Webb scored one more run in the bottom of the fifth to secure the win over the Crimson, 4-2.

Harvard Highlights

• First-year Lauren Bobowski hit her first collegiate homerun for the Crimson.
• Bobowski and first-year Allison Heffley had two hits against the Runnin' Bulldogs.
• Seven different Crimson players had hits against N.C. Central.
• First-year Lindsay G. Poulos allowed no runs and no hits in two and a third innings of relief pitching against the Eagles.
