No. 11 Men’s Water Polo Returns Home for Trio of NWPC Contests

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 11 Harvard men's water polo team will return home for a trio of NWPC conference games. The action begins on Saturday, Oct. 30 with No. 11 Princeton (19-6, 4-1 NWPC) at 9:00 a.m. and No. 20 St. Francis Brooklyn (10-4, 3-1 NWPC) at 5:00 p.m. The Crimson return to Blodgett Pool on Sunday, October 31 at 3:00 p.m. for a matchup with Iona (5-15, 1-6 NWPC).

What to Know
  • Harvard comes in 4-1 in NWPC conference play and holds a 20-3 overall record on the season.
  • Harvard comes in at No. 11 in the CWPA Weekly National Top 20 Poll released on Oct. 27, with Princeton tying the Crimson at No. 11 and St. Francis Brooklyn at No. 20.

  • Junior goalie Noah Hodge has received NWPC Defensive Player of the Week on three separate occasions this season.

  • Harvard suffered its only NWPC defeat this season at St. Francis Brooklyn, 12-10.

At the Helm
Ted Minnis enters his 12th year as The Friends of Harvard Water Polo Head Coach in 2021-22. He led the Crimson to a historic 29-1 record in 2019, with an undefeated 27-0 mark through regular season play. Minnis was named NWPC Coach of the Year following the record-breaking season which set the program record for consecutive wins.  He holds a record of 220-116 (.655) with the men's team through 11+ seasons.

Next Up
Harvard closes out its regular season schedule with three more NWPC matchups next weekend. The Crimson will head to MIT on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 9:00 a.m. before coming back home to take on Connecticut College at 12:00 p.m. Harvard will then travel to Brown on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 11:00 a.m. to conclude NWPC conference play.
