CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Harvard men's fencing won their 14
th Beanpot in a row on Wednesday, Nov. 16, competing against Brandeis, MIT, and Boston College hosted by Boston College. The Crimson went 3-0 on the day, putting them at 9-1 on the season.
Harvard began the day with a 18-9 win over Brandeis University. The team was led by the foil squad who went 8-1 in their matchup, led by
James Chen and
Justin Liu who each went 3-0 in their bouts.
In their second match of the day, the Crimson had their best performance, defeating the Massachusetts Institute of Technology 22-5. Epee's 9-0 performance paved the way for their decisive victory, led by
Anthony Malysz and
Mihir Kumashi who each went 3-0 in their matchups.
The Crimson secured an undefeated day by defeating Boston College 17-10 in a highly contested matchup. This time it was the sabre squad that propelled the Crimson.
Filip Dolegiewicz's and
Daniel Solomon's three wins each helped give the sabre squad a 7-2 victory to secure that the Beanpot would be returning to Cambridge.
