CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 4 Harvard men's fencing team (13-4) will travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., at Vassar College for the NCAA Northeast Regionals on March 13.
The Crimson will get underway at 10 a.m. ET, with the men's epee and foil up first.
For the epee squad, four Crimson fencers are set to compete. Leading the way is
Jonas Hansen as the third seed, followed by
Mihir Kumashi at No. 7.
Josh Willcox and
Anthony Malysz will round out the epee squad for the Crimson at No. 25 and No. 38, respectively.
On the foil side, all four Crimson fencers are seeded in the top 10.
Andrew Chung earned himself the top seed in the event, followed by
Kenji Bravo at No. 5,
James Chen at No. 7, and
Justin Liu at No. 9.
The sabre event will round out the regionals beginning at 1 p.m. ET
Harvard owns three of the top four seeds with
Mitchell Saron (No. 1),
Daniel Solomon (No. 2) and
Filip Dolegiewicz (No. 4).
Jason Oh finds himself in the top 20 as well at No. 17.
The last time Harvard was at this event was in 2020. That year Harvard placed four fencers in the top-three and eight in the top-10.
Bravo grabbed a silver medal, posting a 19-4 record throughout the day. Dolegiewicz earned a bronze medal and posted a 19-4 record as well.
Saron finished in the top 10 with a 15-8 record and Solomon posted a 9-3 record, while
Josh Willcox went 12-4.

At the Helm
Daria Schneider is in her third year as head coach of the Harvard men's and women's fencing programs in 2021-22. In her first season as head coach, Schneider led the men's team to a program record 20 dual wins and an outright Ivy League Championship. She led the women's team to the NCAA Regionals where four fencers placed in the top 10.
