Dolegiewicz Earns CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-America Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Fencing junior Filip Dolegiewicz has been named to the 2022 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Men's At-Large Academic All-America Third Team. The honor is the first of the Dolegiewicz's career.

A native of Park Ridge, Ill., Dolegiewicz won the 2022 NCAA title in men's saber and was named a first-team All-American for the second time of his career (2020). His championship effort at NCAAs helped the Crimson to a second-place finish, which represented the second-best performance in program history.

Dolegiewicz, who served as team captain in 2021-22, was lone fencer to land on any of the three Division I Academic All-America teams. Across Divisions I-III (each division has three teams), Dolegiewicz was one of two fencers recognized, joining Division III Second-Teamer Zaelig Averch of Yeshiva University.

In the classroom, Dolegiewicz posted a 3.74 grade-point average while studying economics. He is also the second Crimson fencer to earn Academic All-America honors, but first since Greg Chang '96-'97. Chang, too, was a third-team selection.
