CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's fencing team is set to welcome New York University to Malkin Athletic Center on Saturday, Jan. 28. The Crimson's home opener is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., with the contest airing live on ESPN+.
In its most recent match against the Violets, Harvard defeated NYU, 21-6, at the Sacred Heart Invitational earlier this season. Five Crimson fencers,
Filip Dolegiewicz (sabre),
Mitchell Saron (sabre),
James Chen (foil),
Ark Ma (epee) and
Jonas Hansen (epee) each went 3-0 in their bouts.
What to Know
- Harvard won the St. John's Invitational title last weekend after going 4-1 in the event.
- With 18 wins so far this season, Harvard only needs three more victories to pass the team record for most wins in a season, which currently stands at 20 from 2019-20.
- Their 18 wins is also the most of any NCAA men's fencing program this season, as of Jan. 26.
- The Crimson's foil squad is a spectacular 19-1 on the season.
- Harvard's 14-match winning streak, ended by its loss against Notre Dame at the St. John's Invitational, tied its longest winning streak since 2011.
