WATERVILLE VALLEY & DUBLIN, NH- The Harvard Ski teams both complete a successful first day of the 2023 Harvard Carnival. Today, the Alpine Team had the giant slalom broadcasted on ESPN+. Tomorrow, the Nordic 3x5km relay race will air at 10am on ESPN+.
What To Know
- At Waterville Valley, both wind and weather conditions caused difficulties for skiers across the board. The warm temperatures in the 40's and strong wind gusts made the course more and more difficult as the day went on.
- At Dublin, the conditions were more optimal and Nordic junior Rémi Drolet had a First Place finish in the 10km individual start freestyle race earlier this afternoon.
Nordic Racing Results
- Women's 10km individual start freestyle race
- Men's 10km individual start freestyle race
Alpine Racing Results
- Men's GS First Run
- After the first runs were over, co-captain Jack Despres talked about his experience racing in both Harvard Carnivals
- The course was withheld on multiple occasions, causing the start of the second run time to be delayed. With remaining daylight as a concern in addition to course conditions, only the top 30 skiers qualified for the second run.
- For the women's giant slalom second run, Elsie Halvorsen represented her team as the lone Crimson skier in this run. Halvorsen finished with a time of 1:05.33, and a combined time of 2:07.55 landing a 19th place finish.
