ITHACA, N.Y.- Harvard men's fencing are the 2023 Ivy League fencing champions after defeating both Princeton and Columbia on the second day of the Ivy League Championships on Sunday, Feb. 12. This is the Crimson's 12
th Ivy League title and first since they won it in 2020.
Senior
Filip Dolegiewicz was named the men's sabre champion after posting a 10-2 record in the tournament. Sophomore
James Chen was also named the men's foil champion after recording a 10-2 record in the tournament.

Jonas Hansen (epee) all achieved first team All-Ivy honors.
The Crimson came into the second day of the Ivy League Championships 2-0 and in second place in the standings behind Columbia who was 3-0.
Harvard picked up right where they left off from yesterday in their first match against Princeton as all three Crimson squads would earn victories in the matchup. However, it was the sabre squad who led the way as
Filip Dolegiewicz and
Mitchell Saron each won all three of their bouts, leading the squad to a 7-2 win.
James Chen (foil) and
Ark Ma (epee) would also win all three of their bouts in this matchup, helping Harvard secure a 17-10 win over the Tigers.
A Harvard win over Princeton meant that the winner of their final match against Columbia would be crowned Ivy League Champions as both teams came into the matchup 3-0. The energy was high, and the screaming was loud in this match.
Daniel Solomon would provide a huge spark in this match, winning all three of his bouts to lead the sabre squad to a 7-2 victory. Three wins from
Jonas Hansen (epee) would give the Crimson the edge they needed to pull away from the Lions, securing a 16-11 victory and the Ivy League Championship.
