Sean Farrell Named 2023 Hobey Baker Award Top 10 Finalist

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior forward Sean Farrell was named one of 10 finalists for the 2023 Hobey Baker Award, the Hobey Baker Memorial Award Committee announced today (March 15). Farrell is Harvard's 16th Hobey Baker Award Top 10 finalist in program history.
 
A native of Hopkinton, Mass., Farrell is enjoying a breakout year, leading the Crimson in scoring with 51 points (20 goals, 31 assists) in 31 games played. The Ivy League Player of the Year, and a two-time ECAC Hockey Player of the Month selection, Farrell is just the third Harvard skater in the last 20 years to top 50 points, joining Jimmy Vesey (32-26-58 in 2014-15) and Dominic Moore (24-27-51 in 2002-03). He is second in the nation in per game scoring with an average of 1.65 points per contest, and second in the nation averaging an assist per contest.  Entering ECAC Hockey Championship Weekend, Farrell leads the team with 16 multiple point efforts, and has recorded a point in all but five contests this season. He is a semifinalist for the Walter Brown Award, presented annually to the best American-born college hockey player in New England. Last year, he represented the United States in men's ice hockey at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, leading the team with six points (3-3-6) in four games.
