Cambridge, Mass. - The Harvard men's and women's track and field teams will combine to send six athletes to the NCAA Indoor Championship meet in Albuquerque, N.M. from Friday, March 10 to Saturday, March 11.
The athletes competing are as follows:
Izzy Goudros (pentathlon),
Maia Ramsden (1 mile and 3000m run),
Graham Blanks (3000m and 5000m Run),
Acer Iverson (5000m Run),
Kenneth Ikeji (Weight throw) and
Alexander Kolesnikoff (shot put).Â
Goudros will be the first to compete, starting off Friday at 10:20 a.m. MST with the first event of the pentathlon, the 60m hurdles. The pentathlon, the men's 5000m run, the men's weight throw and the women's mile preliminary round will take place on Friday, with Blanks and Iverson set to end the night for the Crimson in the 5000m run at 8:05 MST. Saturday competition for the Crimson will resume with the potential of Ramsden in the mile final at 4 p.m. followed by the 3000m run at 5 p.m. and the men's shot put at 7 p.m. to end Harvard's time in Albuquerque.Â
What to Know
• Goudros is heading into the meet ranked 13th in the pentathlon with a score of 4173. She won the Crimson Elite and Multi with this score earlier this season as she broke the Harvard long jump record during the pentathlon competition.Â
• Ramsden, the Harvard record holder in both events she will compete in at the championship meet, enters ranked second in the mile with a time of 4:30.19 and eighth in the 3000m run with a time of 8:54.39.Â
• Blanks, the Harvard and Ivy League record holder in the 5000m run, is currently ranked seventh in the 5000m run with his time of 13:18.45. He will also race in the 3000m run as the 16th ranked athlete with his time of 7:44.76. Iverson joins him in the 5000m run ranked 13th in the nation in 13:26.11.Â
• Ikeji, Harvard's highest-ranking men's athlete entering the championship meet and the Crimson record holder in the weight throw sits in sixth after his 22.66m throw won the Ivy League championship meet.
• Kolesnikoff's 19.83m throw, the current Harvard record, in the shot put has put him 12th in the national rankings as he enters the NCAA Championship meet.Â
