Cambridge, Mass. - The Harvard Softball team will close out regular season play as they host Columbia for a three-game series from Friday, April 28 to Saturday, April 29. Saturday's game will serve as the team's senior game and charity game. All games will air on ESPN+.
Friday's doubleheader at Soldiers Field will feature two games at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday's 12:30 p.m. contest will follow information on the team's charity game and end with the senior day celebration. For the team's 2023 charity game, the Crimson will partner with and help raise money for the B+ Foundation to improve cancer research. Harvard Softball is joining The B+ Foundation to fight childhood cancer because 46 kids are told they have cancer every school day. A tent will be set up at the game where fans can buy merchandise or donate to the foundation on Saturday.Â

• The Harvard softball team is coming off a 1-2 weekend at Princeton, where the Crimson fell to the Tigers twice but pulled out a 6-5 win in game three.Â
• With their 6-5 victory over Princeton, Harvard clinched a spot in the Ivy League tournament that will be held from May 11-13 at the site of the highest seed.Â

Katie Arrambide got the win, going six innings where she gave up five runs, three earned, on five hits, allowed one walk and struck out one. First-year
Riley Flynn also pitched well, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit, walking one and striking out one. At the plate, the Crimson were paced by
Megan Welsh, who went 2-for-4 on the day with two RBI.
Madi Mays compiled a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Savannah Fitzpatrick also chipped in for Harvard, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.
• Harvard currently sits second in the Ivy League with a 13-5 conference record behind the Tigers, who have a 14-4 conference record.Â
• Pending the results of Princeton's series at Dartmouth, the Crimson can earn a spot as Ivy League co-champions if they win one more game than the Tigers or Ivy League Champions if they win two more games than the Tigers do in Hanover.Â
• The Crimson lead Columbia 34-13 in the all-time series, sweeping the Lions in 2022 in their most recent matchup with scores of 9-1 (5 innings), 8-0 (6 innings) and 4-1.Â
