What to Know
• Ikeji is the school record holder in the hammer throw and goes into the NCAA championship meet with the third best mark in the nation, a throw of 74.12m that he achieved at Penn Relays. He won the NCAA East qualifying meet to punch his ticket to Austin.
• Kolesnikoff is another record breaker in the shot put, as he is the only Harvard thrower to ever surpass the 20-meter mark. His 20.69m throw from HYOC sits fourth in the nation and like Ikeji, he punched his ticket to Texas with a win at the east preliminary meet.
• Shirley has had a breakout year in the 400m hurdles, breaking the school record early in the season and then going on to record Harvard's first-ever sub-50 time in the race, running 49.87 at the NCAA east prelims where he finished 12th to earn his spot at the championship meet.
• Blanks will be racing in his third national championship competition of the 2022-23 season, after a spectacular finish at the cross country championship meet and two second-team All-America finishes at the indoor championship. He is heading to Texas in two events as the NCAA east champion in the 5,000m run with the second best time in the nation in the event. He will also race in the 10,000m run after an eighth place finish in the east.
• Iverson will also be racing in his third championship meet of the season, punching his ticket with a 12th place finish in the 10,000m run at the preliminary meet.
• Ratcliffe had a record-shattering 73.11m hammer throw at the NCAA east prelim meet, where she broke the Harvard, Ivy League and Australian national record to take first place and set a new nation-leading throw so far this season. She is one of only two throwers to surpass the 73 meter mark and has a shot at taking home the championship title as the rest of the field has not thrown above 71 meters.
• Omoregie has been building on her throws all year in the shot put, most recently taking second in the east with a personal best 17.67 meters to punch her ticket to the championship meet.
• Valeanu went in to the east region ranked in 12th and moved up to an eighth place finish to punch her ticket to Austin. The school record holder threw her furthest to win the Ivy League title in 56.77m just a few weeks ago.
• Goudros was able to take a weekend off of multi competition as her top-24 ranking in the heptathlon sent her straight past the preliminary meets and right to the championship. She achieved her top score of 5769 at the UConn Northeast Challenge and sits in 14th going into the final meet of the season.
• Ramsden, an undefeated runner in the Ivy League this year, will be heading to Texas with two races in her lineup: the 1,500m and 5,000m runs. She currently sits 15th in the nation in the 1,500 and punched her ticket with a second place finish in her heat. In the 5,000m run, she shaved almost 30 seconds off her season best and 18 seconds off the school record to punch a second ticket with a sixth place finish.
