CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lucy Leel of No. 13 Harvard field hockey earned the first Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honor following her performances in the Crimson two-game opening weekend.
Leel recorded the opening goals in both contests for the Crimson. Against UMass, Leel found the back of the goal with just a few seconds remaining in the first half to put the Crimson up heading into the final two frames.
Similarly, against No. 15 UConn, Leel was the first of four goals that would be scored in the span of four minutes between either team. The player of the week honor is Leel's first in her time at Harvard.
The Crimson were able to pull out wins in both contests, beginning their season 2-0. Harvard will remain on the road this upcoming weekend to battle against Liberty University and University of Virginia before returning home to begin Ivy League action.
