COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior defender
Bronte-May Brough adds yet another award to her already long list of accolades, as the Uttoxeter, England is the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's Northeast Region Player of the Year.
Brough is now a two-time NFHCA Northeast Region Player of the Year, becoming the first student-athlete in program history to win the award on multiple occasions. Brough is also just the third student-athlete since 2010 to earn the honor twice, joining UAlbany's Paula Heuser and Boston University's Ally Hamel.
One of the top defensive talents in the nation over the course of her four-year Crimson career, Brough's senior season was one to remember. Leading the Harvard back line, Brough anchored a Crimson defense that ranked second nationally in goals against average (0.74) and goals allowed (16) this season. A focal point of the Crimson attacking penalty corner strategy, Brough also tallied six goals, three assists and 15 points across 21 appearances.
A three-time All-American, Brough is looking to become just the second four-time All-American in program history, as
Bente van Vlijmen '20 did so from 2016-19. Brough is also the first student-athlete in conference history to win Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year multiple times.
