CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard field hockey's 2025 season was one-of-a-kind, as the Crimson embarked on a remarkable journey that saw the program and student-athletes reach incredible new heights and make amazing memories.
The Crimson's regular season was superb, as Harvard was the only school in the nation to post a perfect regular season record of 16-0, which also represented the first perfect regular season in Ivy League history. The Crimson ended the season with 19 wins, representing the most victories in a single year in program history, as the Crimson secured its eighth Ivy League regular season title.
Harvard swept the major Ivy League awards, as eight Crimson picked up All-Ivy honors as well. Senior defender
Bronte-May Brough became the first student-athlete in Ivy League history to win Defensive Player of the Year multiple times, as junior forward
Sage Piekarski became the first Crimson since 2019 to win Offensive Player of the Year honors. First-year goalkeeper
Linde Burger was the Ancient Eight's Rookie of the Year after leading the nation in goals against average.
More history arrived for the Crimson in the postseason. In the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Harvard defeated New Hampshire on home turf, 8-2, as Piekarski netted the first hat trick in the NCAA Tournament in school history. In a NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals clash with UConn, sophomore forward
Martha le Huray netted the game-winning goal in the second quarter, as the Crimson advanced to the NCAA Tournament Semifinals for just the second time in school history.
Harvard saw incredible success off the pitch as well, as junior midfielder
Lara Beekhuis earned the NCAA's Elite Scholar-Athlete Award, recognizing the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the NCAA Tournament Semifinals.
The 2025 season will live on as a new high point for Harvard field hockey, as the Crimson will look to continue to raise the level in 2026 and beyond.
