COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After a record breaking 2025 campaign, Harvard field hockey's coaching staff took home another accolade, earning the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's Northeast Coaching Staff of the Year award. The award comes home to Cambridge for the first time since 2023.

Lauren McNally, Kiley Allen and
John Griffin, Harvard embarked on a remarkable 2025 season this fall. The Crimson finished the season at 19-2, representing the most wins in a single season in school history. The Crimson also advanced to the NCAA Tournament Semifinals for just the second time in school history. The regular season Harvard compile an undefeated 16-0 record, the first perfect regular season in Ivy League history.
Under the direction of the Harvard coaching staff, several student-athletes enjoyed career seasons on the pitch. Junior forward
Sage Piekarski tallied career-highs in both goals scored (16) and points (36) on the way to becoming the Crimson's first Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year since 2019. The Crimson coaching staff pushed first-year keeper
Linde Burger to an incredible debut season between the posts, as the 2025 Ivy League Rookie of the Year led the nation in goals against average (0.70) and ranked 10
th in save percentage (0.769).
van Herwaarden concludes his 13
th season with the Crimson with a 166-69 record, hitting the 150
th win mark in the 2-1 overtime win against No. 12 Ohio State.
