CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard track & field remains in the greater Boston area this weekend, as Crimson student-athletes will feature at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic and the Riverhawk Invitational, hosted at the TRACK at new balance. Both meets take place on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27.
WHAT TO KNOW:
- Harvard has frequented the TRACK at new balance this season, as the Crimson will run at the facility for a fourth time this indoor season at the Riverhawk Invitational. The TRACK at new balance is hosting the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships on Friday, Mar. 8 and Saturday, Mar. 9.
- Meanwhile, the Crimson will compete at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center for a third time this year.
- Last weekend saw Harvard student-athletes post strong results at the Collegiate Showdown and the Battle in Beantown.
- In his 2023-24 season debut, junior Kenneth Ikeji won the weight throw at the Collegiate Showdown, as his third throw of 21.12m secured the first-place honors.
- Also making his season debut, sophomore Daniel Falode won the triple jump at the Collegiate Showdown, with a high mark of 15.42m.
- First-Year Tito Alofe shared first place in the high jump with Georgia's Riyon Rankin, as both student-athletes cleared 2.15m.
- A native of Peachtree, Ga., Alofe owns the program record in the high jump (2.20m).
- On the women's side, junior Anastasia Retsa and first-year Lilly Hodge logged second place honors in the pole vault and high jump at the Collegiate Showdown, respectively.
- In the women's weight throw, first-year Emilia Kolokotroni logged a second-place finish, hitting a new personal-best of 18.47m.
- The track events at the Collegiate Showdown saw sophomore Jonas Clarke and first-year Timi Esan qualify for the 60m dash finals. Esan placed fourth with a time of 6.77, while Clarke finished in sixth with a run of 6.82.
- At Boston University, first-year Amari Turner ran the 200m dash, finishing in second with a time of 21.44.
- Senior Gregory Lapit won the 300m dash at the Battle in Beantown, as fellow classmate Jonathan Gamarra finished in fourth.
- The Crimson 4x400m relay team of Lapit, Gamarra, Reuben Henry-Daire, and Turner earned a victory at the Battle in Beantown, edging out second-place Northeastern.

Harvard returns to Gordon Indoor Track next weekend, hosting the Crimson Elite & Multi on Friday, Feb. 2. Fans can catch the meet live on ESPN+. Crimson student-athletes will also compete at Boston University's Scarlet & White Invite on Saturday, Feb. 3.
