Ramsden Finishes in the Top-10 at the World Indoor Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After breaking the New Zealand women's indoor 1500m national record in the semifinals, Harvard senior distance runner Maia Ramsden finished in tenth in the women's 1500m finals at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.

The reigning NCAA national champion in the outdoor 1500m, Ramsden was the only New Zealand representative in the 1500m finals. After running a New Zealand national record of 4:06.51 in the semifinals, Ramsden took 10th in the finals with a time of 4:06.88.

Ramsden will now turn her attention to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, as she will run in the 3,000m and the mile. Ramsden owns the top mile time in the nation heading into the semifinals on Friday, Mar. 8, setting a new Ivy League record with a run of 4:24.83, the second fastest time in NCAA history. In the 3,000m, Ramsden owns the third-fastest result this indoor season, setting another new Ivy League record with a time of 8:46.84 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Classic.

Five Harvard student-athletes will take center stage at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, hosted at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Mass. The meet will take place on Thursday, Mar. 7 – Saturday, Mar. 9. All the action will stream live on ESPN+.
