CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Former Harvard track & field and cross country student-athlete
Lisa Tertsch '21 is on the doorstep of a career milestone, as the Darmstadt, Germany native will represent Germany in her Olympic debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Tertsch kicks-off her Olympic journey on Wednesday, July 31, as she competes in the women's individual event of the triathlon. Competition begins at 2 a.m. eastern standard time. On Monday, Aug. 5, Tertsch will join her German teammates for the triathlon mixed relay event at 2 a.m. EST. Both events will stream live on Peacock.
Following her graduation from Harvard, Tertsch has enjoyed a stellar professional career in the international circuit. In 20222, Tertsch dazzled at the World Triathlon Championship series, as she took home second place honors in the women's individual event. At the 2024 World Triathlon Championship Series, Tertsch and Germany took home a gold medal, securing their spots at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In her collegiate career, Tertsch impressed in several distance events, as she is a two-time Ivy League champion in the indoor and outdoor 5000m, and won the outdoor 10,000m Ivy League title at the 2019 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships.
