QUEENS, N.Y. – Harvard fencing returned to collegiate action in the Empire State this afternoon, as the Crimson impressed with a pair of victories against Ohio State and tournament host St. John's at the St. John's Invitational.
After both the men's and women's squads dropped their opening matches against Columbia by identical 15-12 scorelines, both Crimson squads bounced back with victories against Ohio State. The women took down the Buckeyes, 19-8, while the men defeated Ohio State with a 16-11 score.
The women's epee crew dazzled against Ohio State, posting a record of 8-1. First-Years

Sarah Gu both went undefeated in their bouts against the Buckeyes, as Khamis posted a +5 indicator. Women's saber action saw sophomore

Andrew Chen paced the Crimson scoring in men's foil with a 3-0 mark.
Following narrow and hard-fought losses against Notre Dame, the Crimson bounced back with wins against tournament St. John's. The women's team took home the victory by a margin of 18-9, while the men earned the win against the Red Storm, 15-12.
In its showdown against the Red Storm, the women's epee crew posted an impressive 7-2 record to propel the Crimson to the win. As they did all afternoon, Khamis and Gu continued to showcase their skills, as the duo combined for a 6-0 record against the Red Storm.
The men's match saw men's foil six vital victories to clinch the win against St. John's, as men's epee and men's saber also added five and four victories, respectively. In men's epee, Lawson and Zhang each earned two wins.
