Harvard Returns to Competition at Suffolk Relays

CAMBRIDBE, Mass. – Harvard track & field resumes the 2024-25 indoor track & field on Saturday, Jan. 11, heading to the TRACK at new balance for the Suffolk Relays. Competition begins with the women's and men's 5000m at 10 a.m.

WHAT TO KNOW:
  • The Crimson began the 2024-25 indoor track & field campaign on Saturday, Dec. 7, setting several school and Ivy League records at the HBCU & Ivy Challenge and the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
  • An All-America Second Team selection in the outdoor 800m last season, senior Victoria Bossong kickstarted her last season with the Crimson with a historic performance, winning the 600m at the HBCU & Ivy Challenge with a time of 1:27.60, breaking her own Ivy League record in the event. A native of Cumberland Foreside, Maine, Bossong's time at the HBCU & Ivy Challenge also ranks 12th all-time in NCAA history.
  • Sophomore Timi Esan toppled a school record in the men's 60m at the HBCU & Ivy Challenge, winning the event with a time of 6.70. In his first season on the banks of the Charles River, Esan finished in third in the 60m at the 2024 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships.
  • In his final collegiate race before signing a professional contract with New Balance, senior Graham Blanks orchestrated a stellar showing in the 5000m at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, winning the race with a time of 12:59.89, breaking his own Ivy League record and becoming just the second student-athlete in NCAA history to go sub-13 in the 5000m.
  • After earning All-America Second Team status in both the indoor and outdoor 800m in her first-year season, sophomore Sophia Gorriaran finished in second in the 800m at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, as her time of 2:02.74 ranks second in the NCAA this season.
  • Harvard made several memorable moments at the TRACK at new balance last season.
  • A pair of Crimson captured individual NCAA national titles at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships last season. Maia Ramsden '24 won her first and only national championship in the women's indoor mile, while senior Kenneth Ikeji captured the national championship in the men's weight throw.
