PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving finds itself in third place after one day of action at the Ivy League Championships. The Crimson, with its 108 points, sits behind Yale (120) and Princeton (112), and is tied with Cornell through two events at Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
Following Yale, Princeton, Harvard and Cornell in the team standings are Brown (100), Columbia (96), Penn (94) and Dartmouth (90).
How It Happened
- Harvard opened the night with a runner-up performance in the 200 medley relay. Anthony Rincon, Joshua Chen, Sonny Wang and Marre Gattnar combined to finish the event in 1:24.20, posting the fourth-fastest time in school history.
- The Crimson won the team diving relay exhibition with a score of 355.15, finishing ahead of runner-up Princeton and its 339.80.
- After a break for the diving relay exhibition, Harvard returned to the pool, occupying Lane 5 for the 800 free relay. Ben Littlejohn got the Crimson going before giving way to Harris Durham, Shane Washart and David Greeley. The foursome completed the race in 6:18.05, earning an NCAA B-cut and finishing in fourth place. Harvard's time was more than four seconds better than its season-best entering the meet (6:22.93).
