FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving began its NCAA Championships journey with the 800 free relay on Wednesday night inside Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.
The Crimson quartet of
David Greeley,
Marre Gattnar,
David Schmitt and
Evan Croley was one of three teams to compete in Heat 1 of four, along with LSU and Virginia Tech. Harvard finished in third place with a time of 6:21.91. The Hokies completed the race in first (6:11.96), with the Tigers (6:13.66) coming in ahead of the Crimson.
After all four heats were contested, the Crimson finished in 25
th place. California won the event with an NCAA-record 5:59.75 performance.
Harvard returns to the pool deck on Thursday night for the finals of the 200 free relay. The race will be the final event of the night session, which is slated to begin at 9 p.m. ET. ESPN+ will air the action live.
