FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving competed in two events on Saturday to put the finishing touches on its time at the 2025 NCAA Championships. The Crimson's
David Schmitt swam in the 200 fly, while Harvard's 400 free relay closed out the national meet at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.
Schmitt started things off for the Crimson on Saturday morning by competing in the prelims of the 200 fly. The sophomore, swimming in Heat 6, finished the race in 1:41.86 to come in seventh place. Schmitt ultimately registered the 31
st-fastest time in the field and did not move on to the night session to compete in either final (championship or consolation).
Then in the final event of the 2024-25 Division I campaign, the Harvard foursome of
Sonny Wang,
David Greeley,
Marre Gattnar and
Evan Croley, posted a time of 2:52.36 to finish in eighth place in Championship Heat 2 of the 400 free relay. After four finals heats, Harvard ended in 30
th place.
The Crimson finished 2024-25 with a 7-2 dual-meet record, placed second at the Ivy League Championships, and had three relays (800 free, 200 free, 400 free) and one individual (
David Schmitt) advance to the NCAA Championships. All of its NCAA participants are expected to return to Harvard in 2025-26.
