Men's Lightweight Rowing

Men's Lightweight Rowing Claims 2025 Goldthwait and Vogel Cups with Wins Over Princeton and Yale

PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard men's lightweight rowing captured both the Goldthwait and Vogel Cups on Saturday, April 26, with strong victories over Princeton and Yale on Lake Carnegie. The First Varsity Eight led the way, setting a new course record in winning fashion.

With the results, Harvard now leads the all-time series against Yale, 60–40, dating back to 1921, and holds a 60–42 advantage over Princeton. The Crimson topped Yale by 10.9 seconds and Princeton by 6.7 seconds in the 1V race.
Both the First and Second Varsity Eights remain undefeated this season, having collected wins over Cornell, Georgetown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Navy, MIT, Princeton, and Yale.
 

First Varsity Eight (1V)

The First Varsity Eight jumped out early and never looked back, powering to a new course record on Lake Carnegie.

Second Varsity Eight (2V)

The Second Varsity Eight stayed composed through the second 1000 meters to extend their undefeated season.

The Varsity Four maintained control from start to finish to claim a decisive win over two Princeton entries.

Third Varsity Eight (3V)

In one of the tightest races of the day, the Third Varsity Eight battled hard but fell just short to Princeton by 1.5 seconds.
