CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Harvard men's lightweight rowing opened the 2025 Henley Royal Regatta in dominant fashion, as both
varsity eights advanced to the second round of the
Temple Challenge Cup following convincing wins on
Wednesday, July 2.
In a strong start to the bracket,
Harvard B defeated
Bath University, while
Harvard A took down
University of London, continuing the Crimson's impressive run of form this season.
Harvard B Advances with Early Speed
Coxed by
Megan Ong and stroked by
James Stevenson, Harvard B delivered a sharp performance to defeat Bath University by
one and three-quarter boat lengths. The crew, known for its fast starts throughout the season, surged ahead early and maintained control from wire to wire on the Thames.
Harvard A Cruises Past University of London
In the following race, the undefeated Harvard A boat, coxed by
Anya Cheng and stroked by
Ben Lundie, looked composed and commanding, dispatching University of London with a similar
one and three-quarter length margin. With strong pace and open-water control, the A crew extended its season-long winning streak on one of rowing's grandest stages.

Both boats move on to the
second round of the Temple Challenge Cup, which will take place on
Thursday, July 3:
