PRINCETON, N.J. – Two-time defending Ivy League tournament champion Harvard field hockey is only 10 days away from starting the 2025 season in California, as the Crimson took the no. 2 spot in the Ivy League's preseason.
Harvard tallied 118 points in the preseason poll, only two shy of tying Princeton for the top spot. Both the Crimson and the Tigers earned eight first place votes. Across the last four meetings in the series, Harvard is 3-1 against Princeton, holding a +4-goal difference against the Tigers dating back to the start of the 2023 season. Brown (No. 3) and Yale (No. 4) round out the top-four of the Ivy League preseason poll.
Last season was another memorable chapter for the Crimson, as Harvard finished the 2024 campaign with a 16-4 record and a second-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals. Since the 2021 season, Harvard is excelling against Ivy League opposition, owning a 26-2 record in conference play in the regular season.
The Crimson start the 2025 season with a trip to the Golden State, taking on Stanford in the season opener on Friday, Sept. 5 at 9 p.m. eastern standard time.
