No. 1 Women’s Squash Set for Matches Against Columbia, Cornell

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's squash is set to make its return to the courts this weekend when it hosts a pair of Ivy League foes at the Murr Center Squash Courts. The top-ranked Crimson (2-0, 1-0 Ivy) will first take on the No. 12 Columbia Lions (1-3, 0-0 Ivy) before hosting the No. 7 Cornell Big Red (4-2, 0-0 Ivy) on its home courts. Both matches are set to begin at 12:00 PM and will stream live on the Ivy League Streaming Platform.
 

The Matchup

Harvard women's squash is set to return to action this weekend after a long break for finals and the holidays.
 

Starting Strong

The Crimson women's squash team is off to a 2-0 start after defeating No. 12 Dartmouth (Dec. 2) and No. 6 Virginia (Dec. 5) at the end of the first semester. Harvard swept the Big Green on its home courts in a 9-0 victory before traveling to Charlottesville and defeating the Cavaliers, 7-2, on the road.
 
Seven student-athletes on the Crimson ladder own perfect 2-0 individual records after the first weekend including the top three of Caroline Fouts, Saran Nghiem and Lucie Stefanoni.
 

Series History

In the conflict against the Lions, Harvard is a perfect 16-0 in series history dating back to the 2011-12 season. The Crimson has posted back-to-back 8-1 victories over Columbia in each of the last two seasons.
 
Against the Big Red, the Crimson owns a 31-0 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to the 1996-97 season. The matchups have been close in recent seasons with Harvard posting 8-1, 9-0, 6-3 and 7-2 wins in each of the past four seasons, respectively.

The Captains

The Harvard women's squash team elected Molly Stoltz and Saran Nghiem to lead the team as captains for the 2025-26 season. Both student-athletes have becomes leaders for the program in their previous three seasons and will now assume new roles this year. The duo hopes to lead the team to more success this season which will be their last with the Crimson.
 

Up Next

Harvard will play one more match against No. 3 Stanford before a group of student-athletes move on to compete at the 2026 CSA Individual National Championships in New York City. The matchup with Stanford is set for 12:00 PM on Thursday (Jan. 22) with the National Championships set to begin on Friday (Jan. 23) and will run through Tuesday (Jan. 27).
