Men's Volleyball's Woolbert Earns Back-to-Back EIVA Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Cambridge, Mass. – Harvard University junior Owen Woolbert earned back-to-back Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday, marking his second award of the season and the third of his career.

The middle blocker delivered a dominant weekend performance, recording a career-high eight total blocks in Harvard's match against AIC. Across the two-match stretch, Woolbert totaled a career-best 12 blocks while also posting a season-high .643 hitting percentage against AIC.

Woolbert finished the weekend with 14 kills, including 10 in the match against AIC, where he set both his single-match and two-match career block records.

His selection marks the first time a Harvard player has earned the same EIVA weekly award in back-to-back weeks since 2021 and just the fifth occurrence in the conference since that season.

This season, Woolbert has totaled 115 kills, 48 total blocks, and 156 points. He currently ranks fourth in the EIVA with a .284 hitting percentage and sits sixth in the conference, averaging 0.91 blocks per set.

Woolbert and the Crimson return to action on the road against McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois on Tuesday, March 16 at 8:00 p.m. ET and Wednesday, March 17 at 6:00 p.m. ET. Both matches will stream on the GLVC Network.
